Cleaner cities begin with small actions and strong partnerships.

In July 2026, we partnered with Lilongwe City Council through the donation of concrete waste bins to support cleaner public spaces, improved waste management, and healthier communities.

The initiative is part of the Bank’s MWK 10 million commitment towards city clean-up efforts in Lilongwe and Blantyre under its 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility Program, reflecting our commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Speaking during the handover, our Corporate Banking Relationship Manager for the Government Sector, Yamikani Sulamoyo, said the Bank’s role goes beyond providing financial services. “We are committed to making a positive contribution to the communities we serve. We hope these bins will support efforts to promote proper waste disposal and create a cleaner, healthier city for everyone", he said.

Receiving the donation on behalf of Lilongwe City Council, Deputy Director of Health responsible for Waste Management, Thokozani Mkaka, commended the partnership, noting that the bins will help promote responsible waste disposal, reduce littering, and support the vision of a clean and green Lilongwe.
