Jim Kalua is a Certified Treasurer (ACI) under the Financial Markets Association, with 25 years of banking experience spanning Treasury (bond pricing), Operations, and Finance. He has strong expertise in treasury management, sales, marketing, and foreign exchange derivatives.

He joined the bank in 2017 and played a key role in establishing the current Treasury department. Previously, he served as Acting Head of Treasury at OIBM (now FCB), where he had earlier joined as Treasury Manager. His experience also includes roles as Senior Money Market Consultant at African Alliance and Treasury Dealing Manager at Malawi Savings Bank.

Jim has had professional attachments with Centenary Bank Limited (Uganda), Genesis Investment Bank (Zimbabwe), and Finance Bank (Zambia), and has attended several treasury-related courses in Kenya and South Africa.

He holds an MBA (Business Analytics) and a Master of International Business Administration from Guglielmo Marconi University (Italy), as well as a Global Business Management Postgraduate Diploma from the same institution. He also holds ACCA Part II and a PAEC diploma. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration and a Master of Sports Management.

He serves as Board Chairperson of the Malawi National Council of Sports and is the Founder and Board Chairperson of the Football Legends Association.
