Jim Kalua is a Certified Treasurer (ACI) under the Financial Markets Association. He brings with him 23 years of experience in a banking environment, specializing in Treasury (bond pricing), Operations, and Finance, and is skilled in Treasury Management, Sales, and Marketing. He is an expert in the foreign exchange market derivatives.

He joined the bank in 2017 and has been instrumental in setting up the current Treasury department. Prior to this, Jim worked as Acting Head of Treasury for OIBM (now FCB), where he initially joined as Treasury Manager. His other previous roles include Senior Money Market Consultant for African Alliance and Treasury Dealing Manager at Malawi Savings Bank.

Jim has also been attached to Genesis Investment Bank (Zimbabwe) and Finance Bank (Zambia). He has attended several treasury-related courses in Kenya and South Africa.

Mr. Kalua is a graduate of Eaton Business School (UAE) Executive Development Program and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Guglielmo Marconi University (GMU) in Italy. He also holds a Global Business Management Postgraduate Diploma from the same university, an ACCA part II qualification, and a Public Accountants Examination Council of Malawi (PAEC) diploma. Currently, Jim is pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration degree and the ACCA final paper.
