Dr Pelekamoyo is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining Centenary Bank Limited, Francis was the Regional Chairman - Opportunity International Microfinance Banks in Africa (Ghana, Mozambique, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, DRC and Malawi) between 2005 to 2014 and prior to that he had been Chairman and CEO of Opportunity International Bank of Malawi from 2003 to 2005.

He also worked for the Reserve Bank of Malawi rising through the ranks to become Governor from 1991 to 1995. Francis holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economics from Yale University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and Economics from Chancellor College - University of Malawi, and a Diploma in Monetary Economics from St. Andrews University, Edinburgh, Scotland.
